Shampoo – an essential item that is used in every household.

Unfortunately, most people are not aware of the harmful ingredients in their shampoo. With the growing attention of harmful chemicals in our shampoo, numerous recipes have been popping up on the internet.

So, here is a step by step method on how to make your own homemade shampoo!

Coconut Milk

Coconut Milk has benefits such as restoring damaged hair, promoting hair growth and conditioning our hair.

Dr Bronner Castille Soap

Numerous recipes suggested the use of Dr Bronner’s Castille Soap. After some research, we found out that Dr Bronner’s products are organic, non-GMO, certified for fair trade, not animal tested and even vegan! So, why not?

Essential Oil

For those who wish to choose the scent of their shampoo, this can be achieved through the use of essential oil. To make things easier, Dr Bronner’s castile soap comes in many different flavours. To save the hassle, you can choose a scented flavour soap from Dr Bronner’s. But do note, if you wish to have a stronger scent, then feel free to add the essential oil!

Olive Oil

For those who have dry hair, this optional ingredient will help to combat the issue!

 

 

Method

Step 1:

Combine all ingredients in an old bottle or jar.

  • Equal ratio of castile soap and coconut milk
  • One table spoon of olive oil
  • 15 – 20 Drops of essential oil

Step 2:

Mix them well.

Step 3:

Use it! You can keep the shampoo for up to a month. Remember to shake before use and use about a teaspoon each time.
