Jacaranda is a type of soft wood. In this case, these jacaranda spreader have been treated and enhanced to have similar quality as hardwood. Soft woods are widely promoted as an alternative to hardwood as softwood trees take a much shorter time to grow and mature.
Kenyan wood carvers source their raw materials from either furniture factories or from cooperatives, which obtain their required local legal permits to fell trees. The retained natural wood grains, coupled with their unique designs and shape, present the beauty of African natural world and culture!
