Most of us would use up to 300 plastic toothbrushes in our life, which are unrecyclable and almost impossible to break down.
Make the simplest switch by swapping to a bamboo toothbrush. The bamboo toothbrush is very similar to the conventional plastic toothbrushes you find in supermarkets.
The difference is that the toothbrush has a bamboo handle made from Mao/Moso Bamboo. The bristles of the bamboo toothbrush are made of Nylon (Soft), to ensure it is durable and vegan-friendly.
About Mao/Moso Bamboo
Mao Bamboo grows incredibly fast and is used commercially, leaving 1,500 other species of Bamboo for the Pandas to munch on (Panda friendly).
Deforestation is not an issue with its rapid and frequent growth spurts. Mao Bamboo is a natural resource and soil conservation tool as it can grow in soil that has been damaged by poor agricultural methods.

I wanted to try switching from plastic toothbrushes to wooden and this was the first brand I decided to go with. I feel that the bristles are too firm because my gums bled at first. But the bristles soften over time.

Love these brushes. No after taste and works well as a toothbrush! Bristles only have one kind of firmness/softness, so do look out for that! My husband who has sensitive gums can’t use this product(or any bamboo toothbrush we’ve tried so far). I find it works really well for me. I’ve tried several brands and this one is definitely my favorite!

It works just like your normal toothbrush except, this is sustainable! I haven’t been met with any cons yet and I’m loving the product so far!

Love that they are so lightweight. The nylon bristles are soft and of really good quality. Have been looking for good quality bamboo toothbrushes for some time before I found this. Will definitely be repurchasing enough to replace my toothbrushes for a whole year!

These bamboo toothbrushes are great! Its an easy switch if you’re new to sustainability, or wanting to adopt a low or zero waste lifestyle. Plus the bristles are soft to use, and the bamboo feels natural and good to hold while brushing! The only downside is that the bottom does grow mould when I leave it in my toothbrush holder. I’m finding ways to prevent this from happening!

I always get my bamboo toothbrushes from TSP.
The nylon bristles are nice and soft, the handle is well-made and sturdy, and they support a good cause. Like any bamboo toothbrush though, I don’t recommend buying more than one to stockpile unless you’re using them immediately.
Bugs are attracted to those in storage compared to ones that are being used daily.
