Water-activated tape, also called kraft tape, is a tape made with starch-based adhesive.
It can be recycled along with boxes, unlike traditional plastic tapes that have gloss and wax.
In order to use it, cut the piece to the desired length and then apply water with a sponge or a wet rag.

Each year 915 billion meters of plastic packaging tape is used globally, the equivalent distance of travelling from Earth to Mars and back twice. Not only is this a scary fact, I also got thinking about the cardboard boxes that we put the tape on which becomes less recyclable due to the plastic. Make the switch to the water-activated tape, which actually fortifies the cardboard boxes as well!
