Elephant grass grows prolifically near the capital of Ghana’s Upper East Region. Elephant grass blades grow in clusters up to 10 feet tall and local weaves have long utlitised the fibers for making durable baskets and straw hats tinted by natural plant dyes that do not run or stain. Tote Basket (Imperfects) grass at the handles of the basket has come loose.
